COOKING CLASS

First time to visit or live in Kyoto or Kansai and interested in Japanese cooking? Cooking Japanese food is a fast way to understand Japanese culture. Cooking loving staff, small group lesson with relaxed atmosphere at home kitchen. Single person and families with small kids are welcome! Tourists who want to try home-style Japanese meals are also welcome! We hope you will enjoy good food and cultural experiences through our classes.

Food

Please request. If you are up to anything, we will cook traditional home-style meal with rice, miso soup, main dish and 2 side dishes.

Fee

7500 yen per adult for 3 hour class (includes meal), kids 1650 yen, kids before elementary free.

TEA TASTING

Interested in traditional Japanese culture? Want to get away from a city and see a different side of Japan? Wazuka, a traditional Japanese tea town at the south of Kyoto prefecture is waiting for you.

This small town, hidden by mountains, has over 800 years of tea history. Selected for tea production in Kamakura period (1199-1334), Wazuka has kept the tradition of growing and making authentic tea to this day. In fact, Wazuka’s tea (which includes Matcha and Kabuse Sencha) is one of the highest regarded teas in Japan.

Fee:

3300 yen per adult for 1 hour. You will try 5 kinds of local teas. Most teas are organic teas.

JAPANESE TEA CEREMONY

The Japanese tea ceremony, also called the Way of Tea, is a Japanese cultural activity involving the ceremonial preparation and presentation of matcha (抹茶), powdered green tea. You will enjoy the traditional tea ceremony along with make your own matcha time.

4400 yen per adult for 1 hour.
